Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Onni Jarvinen (ranked 4504 p4p, 4459 weight class) and Davis McNally (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Onni Jarvinen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Davis McNally!
The judges for this bout are Josh West, Paul Gruel and Roger Salmon.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jarvinen throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent McNally stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Jarvinen fails with the takedown.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Jarvinen taking a breather.

McNally jumps into guard, dragging Jarvinen to the mat.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
McNally thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.

Jarvinen got a little sloppy there for a moment and McNally has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Jarvinen has managed to get both his arms back between McNally's legs - danger averted.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Jarvinen throwing strikes from guard but McNally blocks nicely.

McNally is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
McNally looking for a sweep. Not yet McNally, not yet.

McNally tries to strike from the bottom.
Jarvinen wants to pass the guard but McNally is keeping the position.

Jarvinen avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Jarvinen with a flurry of punches that miss.
Jarvinen stays in close to McNally's body and controls the position.
McNally lands an upkick as Jarvinen stands over him.
McNally striking off his back but it's not causing Jarvinen any problems.

McNally working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Jarvinen doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Jarvinen manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Jarvinen stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. McNally swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Jarvinen is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Jarvinen has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
McNally is trying to control the position from the bottom.

McNally tries to land a sweep but no joy.
McNally has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
McNally keeping moving, preventing Jarvinen from controlling successfully.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Jarvinen won't allow McNally to sweep him here.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now McNally is on top in guard.

Jarvinen on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Jarvinen tries to get out of the position.
McNally trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but Jarvinen manages to land a sweep and now he's on top!


McNally is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Jarvinen defends well.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
McNally throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Davis McNally dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

McNally misses with a hook. Jarvinen ducked under it nicely.
Jarvinen changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. McNally tries to avoid it but Jarvinen manages to keep hold of a leg and drag McNally to the ground. McNally escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
McNally tries to counter by closing the distance.
McNally stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and McNally wants it to stay on the feet.

McNally has managed to clinch.
A bit of stalling here from McNally.

McNally decides to pull guard.
Jarvinen knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for McNally on the ground.
McNally keeping moving, preventing Jarvinen from controlling successfully.
Jarvinen is really struggling to control McNally but he's trying to hold on to the position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Jarvinen throws a big right hand that misses.

Jarvinen thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
McNally controls Jarvinen momentarily but Jarvinen frees himself.
Jarvinen is fighting to break McNally's control of his arms but McNally is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

McNally avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Jarvinen in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Jarvinen throwing strikes but missing.
Davis McNally has got the better of the ground game so far.

Jarvinen postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! McNally is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Jarvinen, into his guard.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as McNally accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

McNally postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.

Jarvinen looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! McNally has picked Jarvinen up and slammed him! Jarvinen can't keep hold of the triangle and McNally manages to pass to side control!
McNally wants to control but Jarvinen is keeping him busy.

McNally thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
McNally is putting a hurting on Jarvinen here, landing some big shots from side control.

Jarvinen struggling a bit here.
Jarvinen on the wrong end of some ground and pound.
McNally in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.

McNally looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
McNally is staying tight to Jarvinen's torso, preventing him from escaping.
McNally scoring with punches and elbows.

McNally works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.

Jarvinen managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by McNally.

McNally has hold of Jarvinen's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Jarvinen tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - McNally cranks the arm and Jarvinen screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Jarvinen, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:41 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Davis McNally!
Davis McNally decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
