Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Lou Sabatory (ranked 5804 p4p, 4608 weight class) and Sandman Junior (ranked 596 p4p, 541 weight class). Lou Sabatory has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Lou Sabatory!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Sandman Junior!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Frank Antenori and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sabatory shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Junior defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Sabatory.

and Junior counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Junior.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Lou Sabatory. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Junior successfully pulls guard.
Sabatory pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Junior is keeping the position for now.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Sabatory can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Junior is looking to escape.
Sabatory can't control as he wanted to and Junior manages to get the fight back to his half guard.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Junior can do anything to dispel that myth.

Junior bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

Junior stands up and waves to Sabatory to follow him.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Junior enables Sabatory to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Junior manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Junior looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Sabatory passes into side control.

Sabatory is staying tight to Junior's torso, preventing him from escaping.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!


Junior gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Sabatory shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Junior wants to control but Sabatory is keeping him busy.

Sabatory tries to buck Junior off but Junior is having none of it.

Junior decides to stand up, so the ref orders Sabatory to his feet.

Junior slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

Sabatory looking for a guillotine here but Junior defends easily.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Junior controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

Junior really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Sabatory. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Sabatory escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Junior gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Sabatory is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Junior defends well.

Junior is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Sabatory has managed to free his arm - good work.
Junior is taking a breather. Sabatory says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Junior tries to stand but his arm is trapped.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Sabatory is in trouble now - Junior has advanced to mount!

Sabatory sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
Well, if Junior is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
