Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Maxim Menshikov (ranked 139 p4p, 347 weight class) and Keone Kapisi (ranked 5 p4p, 14 weight class). Maxim Menshikov has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the super heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 26 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Maxim Menshikov!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 18 - 0, fighting out of London, Keone Kapisi!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Jack Bonds and Percy O'Donnell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kapisi swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.

Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Kapisi, as that shot connected.
Menshikov keeps the fight on the outside.
Menshikov seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.
Menshikov ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

Kapisi has taken the fight to the clinch.
Kapisi is trying to push Menshikov away but Menshikov has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

Menshikov pushes off an throws an elbow but Kapisi leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.
Kapisi is looking to break free of the clinch but Menshikov has double underhooks.

Kapisi manages to break the clinch.
Kapisi scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Menshikov bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Kapisi throws a right hand that misses
and Kapisi takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Kapisi looks to land a left hand but Menshikov moved out of range nicely.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Kapisi throws a lazy uppercut
and Menshikov counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Menshikov slips a jab from Kapisi.
A little feinted left hand from Menshikov on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.

and Menshikov counters with a nice right hand that sends Kapisi toppling to the canvas! Kapisi scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Menshikov finish him?!

Kapisi is rocked!
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Menshikov's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Kapisi sizes up Menshikov with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.

Kapisi drops Menshikov with a beautiful combination! Menshikov stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Kapisi is looking for the KO!

It looks like Maxim Menshikov has been cut.
Kapisi throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Menshikov on the side of the head.
Kapisi has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Kapisi lands a big uppercut and Menshikov crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Menshikov looks OK. Kapisi waves Menshikov back to his feet!

Menshikov is rocked!
Menshikov is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.
Kapisi cracks Menshikov with a left hook right on the temple and Menshikov goes down! He's out! Referee! Stop the fight! Kapisi lands a few more punches before the dopey ref steps in - hopefully Menshikov is OK!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:38 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Keone Kapisi!
