Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Kain Mack (ranked 696 p4p, 1074 weight class) and Dick Niaz (ranked 91 p4p, 144 weight class). Dick Niaz acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Kain Mack!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Dick Niaz!
The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, Steven Brown and Sam Margolis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A low kick lands for Mack.
Niaz is looking to clinch.
Nice defenses there by Niaz.
Mack avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Mack attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.
Niaz is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.

and Niaz counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Mack is trying to escape back to his feet but Niaz uses the scramble to pass into side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Niaz tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

My spies in High Kicks inform me that Niaz has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!

Niaz thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Kain Mack is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Mack is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control.

Mack is controlling an arm, preventing Niaz from taking his back. Although keeping him in mount is no better to be honest.

I would just about give that final round to Dick Niaz.
