Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jackson Ramirez (ranked 1502 p4p, 1465 weight class) and Miles O Brien (ranked 201 p4p, 195 weight class). Miles O Brien has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jackson Ramirez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Miles O Brien!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Don Winkell and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ramirez fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
A jab from O Brien misses.
Ramirez half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
A chopping leg kick lands by O Brien.
O Brien misses the jab.
Ramirez doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Ramirez takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Ramirez will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Ramirez closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into O Brien's guard.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Ramirez is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so O Brien is just riding it out for now. Ramirez eventually gives up the hold.

Ramirez is stalling here. O Brien is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Ramirez seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and O Brien has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

That was a close round but I would say that Jackson Ramirez will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

The fighters circle momentarily. O Brien darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
O Brien throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Ramirez fails with the takedown
enabling O Brien to counter with a crisp jab.
O Brien uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Ramirez has time to react.
Ramirez looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Ramirez shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with O Brien but O Brien pushes him off and we're back to square one.

You can see the frustration on O Brien's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
O Brien really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Ramirez. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Miles O Brien comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Ramirez has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
