Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Franck Kodjia (ranked 821 p4p, 994 weight class) and Kokkoro Kirin (ranked 26 p4p, 33 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 31 - 24 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Franck Kodjia!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kokkoro Kirin!
The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, Colin Fotheringham and Daniel Bishop.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kodjia throws a leg kick
and Kirin counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

It looks like Franck Kodjia has been cut.
Kodjia looks to land a right hand but Kirin moved out of range.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Kirin! But no joy.
Kodjia avoids the body shot from Kirin.
An attempted straight right counter from Kodjia misses the target.
Kodjia takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Kodjia looks to land a combination but Kirin avoids it well.
It seemed like Kirin was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.

Kirin swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Kodjia fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

A nice leg kick lands there from Kirin.
Kodjia missing with a left hand there. Kirin was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Kirin throws out a counter right but Kodjia avoids it with no problem.
Kodjia lands with a cross.
Kirin throws a right hand that Kodjia ducks under and follows up with a left that Kodjia also avoids with ease.
Kirin takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Kirin takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Kodjia tries to bum rush Kirin with a series of wild strikes but Kirin uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Kirin looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Kodjia does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

and Kirin counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Kirin throws a jab when Kodjia was well out of range.
Kodjia ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Kirin moves away.

enabling Kirin to counter with a crisp jab.

Kodjia was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Kodjia throws a head kick but Kirin moves out of range.

and Kirin counters with a straight right hand.
Kirin throws a looping overhand right but Kodjia ducks down to avoid it.
Kodjia swings and misses with a shot to the body
and Kodjia takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Kirin lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Kirin lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Kirin steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Kodjia.
Kodjia throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Kodjia takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Kodjia misses with an uppercut. Kirin saw that one coming.
Kirin throws a looping overhand right but Kodjia ducks down to avoid it.
Kirin might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

and Kirin counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

The crowd cheers as Kodjia lands an impressive looking overhand right. Kirin doesn't seem phased though.

Kirin takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Kodjia swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Kirin counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.

Kodjia comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.

Franck Kodjia seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kirin looks winded!

Kodjia looks to throw the jab but Kirin is out of range.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Franck Kodjia will probably get the nod.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
That's time! Kodjia's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Kodjia takes a swing at Kirin's ribcage but misses.
Kodjia looks to land a right hand but Kirin moved out of range.
Kodjia looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Kirin paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Kodjia misses with a double jab.
Kodjia lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
Kodjia throws a body punch but Kirin moves out of range.
Kodjia is really struggling to find his range with his punches. Kirin's reach advantage is clearly causing him problems.

and Kirin connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Nice defenses there by Kirin.
Kodjia has not gone for a single takedown so far in this fight, which seems like a very strange tactic when you consider that he has the superior wrestling and BJJ.

Kirin has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
Kirin lands with a straight right. Kodjia didn't see that one coming.

Kodjia clobbers Kirin with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.

That has opened up Kokkoro Kirin's cut even more.
Kirin throws a shot from downtown. Kodjia moves away and avoids it.
Kodjia misses with a hook. Kirin ducked under it nicely.
A little jabbing left from Kirin on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Kodjia lands with a nice body punch.
Kirin is breathing heavily.

Kodjia throws a body shot but no joy.

Oooooh!!! Kodjia has knocked Kirin down with a huge combo! Kodjia steps away and waves a wobbly Kirin back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!

Kodjia lands a big right hand that sends Kirin crashing to the mat! Kodjia stays standing though and waves Kirin back to his feet!
Kodjia cracks Kirin on the jaw with a powerful right hand and Kirin falls backwards against the cage. Kodjia follows up with more strikes that drop Kirin to his knees. Kodjia keeps the pressure on and the referee jumps in to save Kirin! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:39 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Franck Kodjia!
Post fight, an emotional Franck Kodjia said 'Im a pitbull Kill or be killed'.
