Let's get this grappling contest under way! Who will be victorious? Rome clinches with his opponent.
Rome manages to pull guard.
Rome is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Rome not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Rome has his foot on Algadoo's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Algadoo works his way back into a safe position though. Algadoo is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Rome has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Algadoo is looking to defend but Rome has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Algadoo! Rome pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Algadoo taps out and this one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:44 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Curtis Rome! After winning the bout, Curtis Rome thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility. |
