Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Krisko Kurtev (ranked 660 p4p, 1507 weight class) and Murilo Ninja (ranked 97 p4p, 231 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kurtev shoots in looking for a takedown. Ninja tries to sprawl out of it but Kurtev keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Ninja manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Ninja drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Ninja's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Ninja stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Kurtev swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Kurtev pushes a forearm under Ninja's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Ninja is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:41 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Krisko Kurtev!
After winning the bout, Krisko Kurtev thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
