Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 14 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Chame Boxing Champ! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 5 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, George Fughead! The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, John Mangel and Darius Henderson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Boxing Champ on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere. Fughead displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Boxing Champ throws out the jab. Chame Boxing Champ seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Fughead throws a series of punches but Boxing Champ moves out of range. Boxing Champ lands a jab followed by a vicious hook that sends Fughead sprawling to the canvas. Boxing Champ follows him down, looking for the kill. Can Fughead hang on?
Fughead is rocked! Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Boxing Champ working over Fughead with some ground and pound. Fughead looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. Fughead is still in real trouble! Can Boxing Champ finish him? The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Boxing Champ seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Boxing Champ seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Fughead pushes Boxing Champ off looking to stand but Boxing Champ dives back in and keeps control.
Boxing Champ is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Boxing Champ slows the pace down in half guard. Boxing Champ's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. Fughead seems to have recovered his senses. Boxing Champ is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
That's one minute gone in the round. Boxing Champ working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Fughead has hold of Boxing Champ's hands but Boxing Champ slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Fughead is looking to escape. Fughead on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Boxing Champ content to control rather than advance. Boxing Champ scoring with strikes to the body and head. Boxing Champ trying to pass the guard but Fughead defending well. Fughead is trying to stand up here but Boxing Champ is controlling him well.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Boxing Champ performing his best blanket impression for a moment. Boxing Champ working over Fughead with some ground and pound. Fughead looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. Fughead pushes Boxing Champ off looking to stand but Boxing Champ dives back in and keeps control.
Boxing Champ is working for a kimura but Fughead is defending it quite comfortably.
Boxing Champ winds up and cracks Fughead with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Boxing Champ stops Fughead from getting back to his feet.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Boxing Champ is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. We've been hearing that Boxing Champ has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Boxing Champ connects with a nice short shot to Fughead's temple.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Boxing Champ keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. Boxing Champ looks to score some points with some ground and pound. Boxing Champ passes to side control. Boxing Champ is staying tight to Fughead's torso, preventing him from escaping. Boxing Champ scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Fughead to see if he's OK. Boxing Champ controls the position. Fughead is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Boxing Champ is controlling him well. Boxing Champ slows the pace down. Boxing Champ has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Boxing Champ looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Boxing Champ grinds an elbow into Fughead's temple. Fughead tries to wriggle free to get back to his feet but he's given up his back! Oops. Boxing Champ really has the hooks in deep now - there seems like no escape for Fughead. Boxing Champ has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Boxing Champ throwing damaging strikes from the back! Fughead could be in trouble here!
Boxing Champ lands a shot to the head. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Boxing Champ has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Fughead's body.
Both fighters have adopted an aggressive gameplan on the ground! Fughead is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Chame Boxing Champ dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action. Fughead scores with a jab to the head.
Fughead misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Fughead defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Boxing Champ. Boxing Champ lands a nice looking body shot.
Boxing Champ shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Boxing Champ trying to pass the guard but Fughead defending well. Fughead is trying to stand up here but Boxing Champ is controlling him well. Fughead is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Boxing Champ takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Boxing Champ working over Fughead with some ground and pound. Fughead looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Fughead looks like he's trying to stand up.
Boxing Champ is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
That's one minute gone in the round. Fughead wants to get back to his feet. Boxing Champ lands a big elbow from half guard. That looks like it's hurt Fughead quite badly. Fughead pulls Boxing Champ in close trying to recover. Boxing Champ postures up and lands two really hard shots that put Fughead on queer street! The ref takes a look and decides to call an end to the fight! Possibly an early stoppage but Fughead doesn't seem to be complaining too much.
