Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Toe Fungas (ranked 3769 p4p, 5874 weight class) and Harris Mint (ranked 455 p4p, 568 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Toe Fungas! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Harris Mint! The judges for this bout are Phil Schofield, James Glass and Donald Grub.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mint darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Fungas scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Mint manages to mount him!
Fungas wants to hold on but Mint pushes him away. Fungas is trying to escape the mount.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. You get the feeling that Fungas really doesn't like being in this position too much.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Fungas working to try and regain half guard.
Mint with shots to the head and body - Fungas looks very uncomfortable down there. Mint looking to ground and pound but Fungas is blocking nicely.
That's one minute gone in the round. The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Mint cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Mint lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning. Mint trying to control but he's not successful this time. Mint fails to take his opponent's back. Fungas is trying to stand. Fungas is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Mint is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Fungas can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Mint lands a big shot there that rocks Fungas but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Mint controlling from the full mount. Mint throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
Fungas has given up his back, trying to stand up. Not clever. Fungas tries to escape the position.
Mint just keeping the dominant position. He can't wait too long though, otherwise the referee will stand them back up.
Mint lands with a couple of good shots - one to the side of the head and one questionable shot that could be viewed as to the back of the head but the referee lets it go.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Fungas is trying to get back to his feet but Mint has full control of the position and if anything, Fungas has just worked his way into a worse spot. Well, with Mint on his back, surely it's only a matter of time before Fungas is tapping out... Can he escape the position? Mint just keeping the dominant position. He can't wait too long though, otherwise the referee will stand them back up.
It looks like Mint might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it. Fungas knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Mint on the ground. Fungas is keeping busy.

That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Mint looking for the RNC. You can see the frustration on Fungas's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
Fungas manages to escape to his feet. Fungas darts in and clinches Mint up against the cage. Fungas lands with a light punch inside. Mint stalling.

Fungas breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Mint fails with a takedown attempt. It looked like Fungas wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit. Mint closes the distance and lands a one-two. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Harris Mint dominated that round. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! Mint shoots for a takedown but Fungas saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Fungas lands with a nice combination. Mint backs away looking to recover. Jab by Fungas. Mint rushes Fungas and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Mint pressing his opponent against the cage. Fungas lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Mint backwards. Mint pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Fungas ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Mint moves away. Mint clinches up against the cage. Fungas misses with a punch on the inside.
Fungas breaks the clinch.
Fungas takes a swing at Mint's ribcage but misses.
That's one minute gone in the round. Fungas closes the distance and clinches. A frustrated look appears on Mint's face as he tries to break the clinch. Mint fails to pull guard.
Fungas swings wildly with an uppercut but Mint uses good head movement to avoid it. Mint manages to break the clinch.
Mint misses with the combination.
Fungas wants to clinch up but Mint keeps it at a distance. Mint looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Fungas is fending him off so far but Mint persists. Nope, Fungas circles away and we're back to standing. Fungas seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym. Toe Fungas has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Harris Mint. Fungas gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Mint drags the fight down to the ground.
Mint wants to stand but Fungas is controlling the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Mint looking to sweep here. No luck so far. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Fungas trying to stand up but can't free himself from Mint's guard. Fungas got a little sloppy there for a moment and Mint has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Fungas has managed to get both his arms back between Mint's legs - danger averted. Mint has a closed guard, preventing Fungas from standing up. Fungas looking to sit in guard and control but Mint gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Fungas wants to stand but Mint is controlling the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mint stands and steps away. Fungas gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Mint fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Fungas tries to close the distance and clinch but Mint swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Fungas throws the left hand but Mint avoids the punch easily. Fungas has taken the fight to the clinch.

Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Fungas walks away with a smile on his face. Mint gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Toe Fungas seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Mint fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Fungas avoids it really well and circles away. Toe Fungas is winning the standup battle so far.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Fungas misses with a series of wild punches.

Fungas scores with a nice head shot. Jab by Fungas. Mint takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Fungas closes the distance and clinches. Mint wants to take the fight to the mat but Fungas manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch. Mint wants to break free but Fungas has control.
Mint looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Mint is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Fungas misses with a short punch on the inside. Fungas manages to break the clinch.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Toe Fungas dominated that second round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round! Fungas throws a hook to the side of Mint's head but Mint sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Mint dives in and grabs Fungas's left leg, looking for a takedown. Fungas pushes down on Mint's head and hops out. Fungas lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Toe Fungas is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Fungas is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Mint slips a jab from Fungas. Fungas throws out a loose jab but Mint uses good head movement to avoid it. Fungas drives through and clinches with Mint against the cage.
Mint is working for takedown but Fungas is calmly controlling the position for now. Mint tries to pull guard but Fungas forces him back to his feet, against the cage. Toe Fungas has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Harris Mint. Fungas is pressed up against the cage. Mint has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Fungas down to the mat. Fungas avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Mint fails in his attempt to clinch. Mint changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Fungas tries to avoid it but Mint manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Fungas to the ground. Fungas escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Fungas throwing a counter right hand but Mint manages to avoid it. Mint throws a sloppy head kick and Fungas moves out of range easily. Mint showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Fungas.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mint shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Fungas sprawls well. Fungas wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Mint gets slowly back to his feet. A jab lands there for Fungas. Fungas fails with an attempt to clinch.
Mint is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here. Fungas has managed to clinch.
Both fighters working to control the clinch. Fungas lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Mint backwards. Fungas misses with a hook from the clinch. Fungas is defending well against a takedown attempt. Fungas prevents a takedown attempt there.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Fungas gets in close and instigates a clinch. Mint looking for a takedown. Mint holding his opponent close, against the cage.

That's four minutes gone in the round. An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Fungas. Toe Fungas has scored more points in the clinch so far. The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Mint takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life. Mint is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Fungas is defending well. Mint is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Fungas gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. Fungas makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut. Fungas misses with a short punch on the inside. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Mint is struggling to control the position. Mint blocks a punch to the side of the head.
And that's the end of the fight! Toe Fungas showed his dominance in that final round. I think Fungas has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
