Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Stanislav Strakapoud! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Adolfo Correia! The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, Reed Andrews and John Kavanagh.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Correia misses with an uppercut. Correia lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent. Correia misses with a straight left. Correia throws a shot from downtown. Strakapoud moves away and avoids it. Correia pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Strakapoud scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Strakapoud prevents Correia from improving his position. Strakapoud is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Correia is trying to maintain the position but Strakapoud is very close to passing his half guard. Correia looks like he's trying to stand up.
Strakapoud seems to be working for a kimura but Correia defends the submission attempt. Strakapoud is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
That's one minute gone in the round. Strakapoud trying to mount his opponent but Correia defends it. Correia really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Strakapoud. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Correia is trying to stand up here but Strakapoud is controlling him well. Strakapoud tries to pass the half guard into mount. Correia knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Correia pushes Strakapoud off looking to stand but Strakapoud dives back in and keeps control.
Correia is looking to control Strakapoud's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Correia avoid being mounted? Strakapoud seems to be looking for submissions.
Strakapoud seems to be working for a kimura but Correia defends the submission attempt. Correia wants to get back to his feet.
Strakapoud maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Correia could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Strakapoud has cracked it and Correia is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Strakapoud!
