The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Okongwu defending well as Figueiredo loads up on a big left hand.
Figueiredo throws a jab but it's blocked by Okongwu.

and Figueiredo takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

and Okongwu counters with a good low kick that Figueiredo was not able to check.
Okongwu displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Figueiredo throws out the jab.
Figueiredo swings and misses with a hook to the body.
As Figueiredo looks to move away, Okongwu throws a big counter combo but Figueiredo just gets out of the way.

and Okongwu counters with a low kick, right behind Figueiredo 's knee.
Figueiredo misses with a jab to the body

and Okongwu counters with a crisp right hand that drops Figueiredo! Okongwu lets Figueiredo back up to his feet, looking for a finish!

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Figueiredo throws a lazy uppercut
and Okongwu counters with a beautiful right hand that knocks Figueiredo out cold! What a finish! Okongwu is going crazy, running around the mat, summersaulting off the corner posts and screaming into the cameras. Something tells me he's pretty happy!

Isaiah Okongwu decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
