Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Uwe Eggert (ranked 3188 p4p, 3226 weight class) and Eddie McDermott (ranked 387 p4p, 392 weight class). McDermott is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: I'm Shipping up to Boston. Eddie McDermott will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Eddie McDermott!
The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, Joseph Jones and Jonathan Paton.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Eggert slips a jab and a cross from McDermott.
A little feinted left hand from Eggert on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Eggert moves away from the strike by McDermott.
Eggert throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Eggert ducks down and throws a hook to the body but McDermott moves away.
Eggert takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Eggert walks into a straight right hand from McDermott.
A left lands for Eggert.
McDermott throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
McDermott misses with a few strikes there.
McDermott throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Eggert throws a hook but McDermott avoids it easily.
Eggert ducks under a wild hook from McDermott.
Some wild striking there from McDermott.
Eggert throws a hook but McDermott blocks it.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Eggert takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Eggert throws a body shot but no joy.
A telegraphed right hand from McDermott misses the target.
McDermott cracks Eggert with a right hand to the side of the head.
McDermott scores with a hook to the body. Eggert takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Eggert throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Eggert loads up on a big right hand but McDermott slips the punch.

That's one minute gone in the round.
McDermott misses with a body shot.
McDermott thuds his right hand into Eggert's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
McDermott just misses with a punch to the body.
Eggert throws a hook but McDermott blocks it.
Nice defenses there by McDermott.
Eggert throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
McDermott stuns Eggert with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
McDermott looks to land a right hand but Eggert moved out of range.

McDermott throws a left that rocks Eggert and follows with a right that sends him tumbling to the canvas! McDermott dives into side control, looking to finish! Can Eggert regain composure!

Eggert is rocked!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Eggert is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.

McDermott stands up.
Eggert looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.

McDermott drops his shoulder and cracks Eggert with a huge uppercut! Eggert goes down! Can McDermott finish him?
Eggert really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Eggert is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst McDermott is controlling him.
Eggert trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.
McDermott wants to stand but Eggert has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

McDermott decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Eggert, up you get!
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Eggert misses with an uppercut.
Despite the aggression on McDermott's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.
McDermott cracks a nice hook into Eggert's ribs.
A big left from Eggert misses.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Eddie McDermott dominated that round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!

McDermott keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Eggert on the wrong end of a nice hook.
McDermott has tried to improve his agility in the runup to this fight.
McDermott misses the shot to the body.
Eggert misses with a hook.
McDermott throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
McDermott lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Oh Eggert is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
McDermott drops Eggert with a big left hand! Eggert is injured, injured bad! McDermott jumps in and finished him with strikes! The fight is over!
