Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Max Scherzer (ranked 2870 p4p, 6248 weight class) and Kyle Chapman (ranked 34 p4p, 97 weight class). Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Max Scherzer! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Kyle Chapman! The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Skip Squint and Darius Henderson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Scherzer closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Chapman quickly recovers to half guard. Chapman has a hand on Scherzer's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Scherzer takes advantage of the position though and mounts him! Chapman controls the position. Scherzer controlling the pace for now. Scherzer trying to control but he's not successful this time. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Scherzer working for a submission but Chapman is keeping him at bay. Scherzer jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Chapman manages to avoid the submission attempt. Chapman struggling a bit here. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Scherzer tries to move to mount but Chapman blocks the move with his legs. You can see the frustration on Chapman's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Chapman trying his best to control but Scherzer has mounted him. Scherzer trying to control but he's not successful this time.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Chapman tries to hold on but Scherzer pushes him away. Scherzer working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet. Scherzer prevents Chapman from getting the reversal. Scherzer trying to control but he's not successful this time. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Scherzer is really struggling to control Chapman but he's trying to hold on to the position.

He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Chapman slips a leg in and gets back to half guard. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Max Scherzer dominated that round. That's time! Scherzer's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. Scherzer with a lazy takedown attempt and Chapman counters with a stiff right hand. Scherzer closes this distance looking for a takedown but Chapman circles away. Chapman stuffs the takedown. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Max Scherzer. That's going to take a lot out of him. Scherzer shoots in for a takedown but Chapman shows good takedown defense. Scherzer fails with the takedown and Scherzer takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Chapman lands a really nice looking cross but Scherzer seems unphased.
Scherzer is rocked! Chapman looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Scherzer shoots in and gets a takedown into Chapman's guard. Chapman controlling Scherzer's posture. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Scherzer looking to pass the guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Scherzer trying to control but Chapman is working from the bottom. Max Scherzer overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Chapman lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard. Chapman trying to control but Scherzer is working from the bottom. Chapman content to stall in guard here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Chapman is continuing to stall. Chapman slips nicely into half guard. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Scherzer moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Scherzer not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Scherzer fails with the takedown. Scherzer fails to land the takedown. Scherzer gets a takedown into half guard. Chapman is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Chapman is trying to control but can't.
Scherzer takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Chapman is trying to get back to full guard. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Scherzer has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Chapman defend it? Scherzer steps over the head and cranks it - Chapman is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Scherzer!
