Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Chie Satonaka (ranked 3993 p4p, 4805 weight class) and Thomas Quessy (ranked 475 p4p, 527 weight class). Satonaka's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Rayden. Quessy has chosen Airbourne - Back In The Game as his entrance music. Thomas Quessy acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Chie Satonaka!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Thomas Quessy!
The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, Columbo Gatti and Jorge Garcia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Satonaka throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.

Satonaka lands a left and a right that send Quessy crashing to the mat, dazed. Satonaka thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

Quessy is rocked!

It looks like Thomas Quessy has been cut.
Quessy takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Quessy is still on wobbly legs! Can Satonaka finish him?

Satonaka lands a big uppercut and Quessy crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Quessy looks OK. Satonaka waves Quessy back to his feet!
Thomas Quessy seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Satonaka throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Satonaka misses with an uppercut

and Quessy counters with a single leg into guard. Satonaka didn't expect that.
Satonaka is wriggling around but Quessy manages to pass to half guard.
Quessy seems to have recovered his senses.

Satonaka is trying to stand back up but Quessy is controlling him
Quessy thows a huge punch but Satonaka dodges it nicely.
Quessy tries to pass to full mount but Satonaka defends it.
Quessy is trying to control. Satonaka wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Satonaka is trying to stand up here but Quessy is controlling him well.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Quessy trying to pass the guard but Satonaka defending well.
Satonaka keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Quessy is pressing down on Satonaka's thigh, looking to free his foot. Satonaka is holding on for now.
Satonaka is trying to stand.
Quessy trying to control the action but Satonaka is working from the bottom.
Satonaka wants to get back to his feet.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
No luck for Quessy with that takedown attempt.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Quessy tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Satonaka paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Satonaka fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.

That has opened up Thomas Quessy's cut even more.
Quessy shoots and misses
and Quessy takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Satonaka circles away from the clinch attempt.
Satonaka stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Quessy tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Satonaka defends well and Quessy ends up having to push Satonaka into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Satonaka half committed to a counter leg kick.
Chie Satonaka has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Thomas Quessy.
Quessy moves forwards but Satonaka connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Nice sprawl there from Satonaka as Quessy shoots in.
Satonaka takes a swing at Quessy's ribcage but misses.
Satonaka throws a right and a left that both miss.
Quessy is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.
Quessy tries for a takedown but Satonaka circles away easily
and Satonaka connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

The cut above Thomas Quessy's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Satonaka tests Quessy's chin there with a solid looking shot.

Satonaka drops Quessy with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Quessy looks back up at him and smiles so Satonaka waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Quessy leaves his chin hanging out and Satonaka seizes the opportunity with an uppercut! Quessy crumbles to the floor in a heap, and the referee steps in and tends to the downed fighter! What a knockout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:08 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Chie Satonaka!
An out of breath Chie Satonaka thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
