Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mikhail Orlov (ranked 917 p4p, 297 weight class) and Valentin Taneyev (ranked 130 p4p, 49 weight class). Mikhail Orlov has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 33 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Mikhail Orlov!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 19 - 9 - 0, fighting out of New York, Valentin Taneyev!
The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Topper Green and Ben Hemmingworth.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Orlov throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Orlov scores with a crisp jab that stopped Taneyev in his tracks.
Orlov closes the distance looking to clinch
and Taneyev counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Orlov swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Orlov throws an off balance right hand
and Taneyev counters with a straight right hand.
It looks like Mikhail Orlov has been cut.
Taneyev drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Orlov looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
A head kick by Orlov misses
and Taneyev counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Orlov tries a head kick but it misses.
Orlov misses with a looping left.
Orlov moves out of the way of the counter high kick fromTaneyev.
Orlov takes the fight into the clinch.

Taneyev escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Orlov, as that shot connected.
Some bone on bone action there as Orlov checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.

Orlov is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
Mikhail Orlov seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Taneyev avoids the head kick by Orlov.

Taneyev gets tackled into the cage by Orlov. Orlov maintains the clinch.
Orlov breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Taneyev takes a head kick and keeps coming.
The fighters circle momentarily. Taneyev darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Orlov gets a clinch.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Orlov makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
Taneyev is trying to push Orlov away but Orlov has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Taneyev breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Nice shot lands for Orlov.

and Taneyev counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Orlov swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Taneyev makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Orlov tries to clinch up but Taneyev circles away and keeps his distance.
A little jabbing left from Taneyev on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Orlov jabs Taneyev right on the nose. Taneyev blinks but takes it well.
Taneyev has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Orlov finds it's way round the side to connect with Taneyev's head.
Orlov throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Taneyev on the side of the head.
Orlov is looking to clinch but Taneyev is avoiding it.
Taneyev swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Orlov misses with a body punch
enabling Taneyev to counter with a crisp jab.
Orlov throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Taneyev counters with a nice right hand that sends Orlov toppling to the canvas! Orlov scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Taneyev finish him?!
Orlov is rocked!
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Orlov throws a one two combo.
Oh Orlov is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Taneyev throws a hook but Orlov blocks it.
Orlov moves into the clinch successfully.
Orlov seems to have got his legs back now.
Taneyev tries to circle away but Orlov has him pinned against the cage.
Taneyev manages to break the clinch.
Taneyev circles away from the clinch attempt
and Taneyev counters with a huge left! Orlov is in big trouble! He's backing up but Taneyev isn't giving him chance to recover. Under a barage of punches the ref has to step in to save Orlov from any more damage. A dominating finish by Taneyev!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:26 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Valentin Taneyev!
