This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the middleweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of Los Angeles, with a TWGC record of 28 wins and 19 losses; Rolf Ottke! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Los Angeles, with a TWGC record of 5 wins and 5 losses; Muhammad Jabbar! The judges for this bout are Phil Schofield, Sam Margolis and James Glass.
The official calls the fighters to the middle and the contest is under way. Ottke leaves Jabbar with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. As Jabbar tries to get set, Ottke tries to push him back and clinch up but Jabbar manages to avoid the attempt. Jabbar tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Ottke defends well and Jabbar ends up having to push Ottke into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Jabbar shoots in for a takedown but Ottke shows good takedown defense. Rolf Ottke has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Muhammad Jabbar. Jabbar fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Ottke sprawls well initially but Jabbar persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Jabbar avoids the attempt from Ottke to control. Ottke sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though. Jabbar prevents Ottke from improving his position. Jabbar wants to free his trapped foot but Ottke is holding on for dear life with his legs.

That's twelve minutes gone in the round. Ottke wants to hold on but Jabbar pushes him away. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Jabbar controlling his opponent. Jabbar trying to control but he's not successful this time. Ottke is desperately trying to improve his position but Jabbar has a good base and remains in mount. Jabbar avoids the attempt from Ottke to control.

Ottke slips a leg in and gets back to half guard. Jabbar with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
That's fourteen minutes gone in the round. Ottke controlling the position well. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Ottke is staying active underneath Jabbar, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
And that's the end of the fight! Jabbar wins on points by 13 to 0. A very excited looking Muhammad Jabbar made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction. |
