Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Alexei Brovarnik!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Greg Cox!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Alec Ball and Yves DeLean.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brovarnik tries to clinch but Cox moves out of range.

Cox closes the distance and clinches.
Cox wants to stall.
Brovarnik is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.

Brovarnik jumps guard and drags Cox to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Cox distracts Brovarnik with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

Cox avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Cox really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Brovarnik. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Brovarnik is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Cox defends well.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Brovarnik can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Cox controls the pace.
It looks like Cox might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

Brovarnik is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Cox is aware though and is defending well.

Brovarnik is looking for a triangle here but Cox uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.

Cox controls the position.
Brovarnik can't do much from the bottom here.
Cox trying to control the position but Brovarnik is working away.
Brovarnik is not in a great position here, taking some shots.

Brovarnik is looking for a sweep.
Cox controlling the position from side mount.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Brovarnik is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Cox is one step ahead and moves to full mount!
Cox prevents Brovarnik from getting the reversal.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Brovarnik is staying active underneath Cox, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Cox tries to pass the half guard into mount. Brovarnik knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Brovarnik is not content to let Cox control the position.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Cox scores with a couple of short elbows.
Cox tries to advance to mount but Brovarnik denies him.
Brovarnik is letting Cox control him for a moment.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Brovarnik can't do much from the bottom here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Greg Cox dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Cox circles away from the clinch attempt.
Cox wants to counter the offense by Brovarnik and move into the clinch position.
Cox uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Brovarnik.
Brovarnik avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Brovarnik quickly followed up with a counter body kick but doesn't connect.

Cox gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Brovarnik unloads a knee to the mid-section.
Cox tries to land knees in the clinch but Brovarnik avoids the damage to the body.
Cox goes for a takedown in the clinch but Brovarnik prevents it.
Our sources have told us that Brovarnik has been working on his knees in the buildup to the fight.
Brovarnik lands a nice uppercut.
Brovarnik lands with a short shot to the head.
Cox takes an elbow to the temple.

It looks like Greg Cox has been cut.
Brovarnik scores a nice knee to the body.

Cox gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Brovarnik is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Brovarnik is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a triangle but Cox frees his head nicely. Oh but Brovarnik has switched to an armbar! Cox is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
