Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Better Dead!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Justin Gaethje!
The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, William Gold and Steven Brown.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gaethje ducks under a wild hook from Dead.
Gaethje cracks Dead with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Dead takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Dead throws a jab but it's blocked by Gaethje.
Gaethje slips a jab from Dead.
Dead lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Gaethje circles away quickly and effectively.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Gaethje! But no joy.
Gaethje lands a nice looking body shot.
Gaethje keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Dead ducks under a wild hook from Gaethje.
Dead dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Gaethje takes a jab right on the kisser.
Dead really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Dead moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Dead throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Better Dead seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Gaethje doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Dead smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Dead lands a left and a right that send Gaethje crashing to the mat, dazed. Dead thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Gaethje is rocked!
Gaethje throws a right hand that misses
and Dead rattles Gaethje with a well-timed uppercut counter. - Gaethje tries to back away and recover but his hands are down low and he gets tagged again, sending him stumbling down to the canvas. Dead dives in after him and quickly finishes the job with a trio of brutal punches, leaving Gaethje stiff and motionless on the mat!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Better Dead!
