Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ed Green (ranked 406 p4p, 768 weight class) and Eric Ries (ranked 57 p4p, 104 weight class). Eric Ries is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 13 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ed Green! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Eric Ries! The judges for this bout are Yuuki Gou, Kenichi Hosakawa and Ren Mimura.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A chopping leg kick lands by Ries. Green tries for a takedown but Ries circles away easily and Ries counters with a nice body shot. Green shoots in but no luck this time. Green fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Green backing away here, and Ries unleashes a leg kick that just misses. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ed Green. That's going to take a lot out of him. Ries misses with a head kick.
Green dives in and grabs Ries's left leg, looking for a takedown. Ries pushes down on Green's head and hops out. A chopping leg kick lands by Ries. Green fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Green gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Ries counters with a lovely shot to the body. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Green is defended easily by Ries. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Ries gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Green wants to control from the top but Ries keeps moving. Ries looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Green passes Ries's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Green passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Ries! Green wants to take his opponent's back but Ries doesn't allow it. Ries has given up his back - I don’t know if this is a deliberate ploy to try and escape or if he is just struggling down there.
Green is looking for the choke from the back position but Ries is controlling his hands well.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Green is hanging on to Ries's back as he tries to escape.
Green is looking to control Ries but Ries is wriggling around and keeping busy. Green is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Ries is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. Ries won't enjoy being in this position. Green looking for the choke. Oh... he's slipped the arm under the neck - Ries is tapping - it's over boys! Green picks up the submission victory!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Ed Green! Ed Green is the new lightweight champion!
