The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shalashaska steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Koppia.
Koppia lands the left hand.
Koppia throws a lazy uppercut
and Shalashaska counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Koppia jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
Koppia throws a poor cross that misses
and Shalashaska counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Koppia misses with a hook to the body
and Shalashaska counters with a nice uppercut.
Koppia misses with a lunging right hand
and Shalashaska counters with a left and a right that stings Koppia.
Ottaa Koppia seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Koppia throws a nice looking combination but Shalashaska bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Shalashaska wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Koppia rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Shalashaska moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Koppia misses with an uppercut. Shalashaska saw that one coming.
Koppia misses with a left hand
and Shalashaska counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Koppia is rocked!

Koppia throws a looping overhand right but Shalashaska ducks down to avoid it.
Shalashaska went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.

Shalashaska on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.

Koppia cracks Shalashaska with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Koppia has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Shalashaska to stand back up!

Shalashaska is rocked!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Shalashaska takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Oh Shalashaska is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
We've been hearing reports that Shalashaska has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Koppia looks to land a left hand but Shalashaska moved out of range nicely.
Koppia cracks Shalashaska on the jaw with a powerful right hand and Shalashaska falls backwards against the cage. Koppia follows up with more strikes that drop Shalashaska to his knees. Koppia keeps the pressure on and the referee jumps in to save Shalashaska! This one is all over!
