Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mark Campbell!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Roger Sparr!
The judges for this bout are Taro Takaoka, Yukihiro Shimada and Shigeki Sano.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Campbell fails in his attempt to clinch.
Sparr is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.

Sparr closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Campbell quickly recovers to half guard.
Campbell avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Sparr.
Sparr is looking to advance position but Campbell won't allow it.
Sparr looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Campbell with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Sparr is keen to just control but Campbell is a slippery customer.
Campbell looks like he's trying to stand up.
Sparr throws a strike but Campbell avoids it easily and moves to full guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Sparr throws a big elbow that misses.
Sparr is working Campbell over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Sparr postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Sparr landing some decent shots from guard.
Campbell will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Sparr lands a couple of elbows.
Sparr lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Sparr distracts Campbell with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Sparr stops Campbell from standing up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Sparr with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Sparr works over Campbell with some ground and pound from guard.
Sparr lands a couple of digs.
Campbell definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Sparr scores with a decent looking elbow strike.

Campbell is rocked!

It looks like Mark Campbell has been cut.
Sparr keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Campbell's head.
Oh Campbell is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Sparr loads up on a big left hand. Campbell felt that one! He's just covering up now, not defending himself intelligently - Sparr looks towards the ref and unloads with 3 more big shots and the ref has no choice but to stop the fight! Campbell can't hide his disappointment, as Sparr celebrates the victory.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Roger Sparr!
