PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Roth Kanh (ranked 3124 p4p, 4212 weight class) and Mark Junior (ranked 191 p4p, 247 weight class). Junior has chosen I am Goated as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Roth Kanh had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Roth Kanh!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Mark Junior!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Percy O'Donnell and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Junior misses with a lunging right hand
and Kanh cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Junior gets a clinch.
Kanh jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Junior walks away with a smile on his face. Kanh gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Junior closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Junior pulls guard successfully.

Junior has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Kanh can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Kanh trying to control the position from guard on top but Junior is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Kanh will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Junior has his foot on Kanh's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Kanh works his way back into a safe position though.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Kanh got a little sloppy there for a moment and Junior has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Kanh has managed to get both his arms back between Junior's legs - danger averted.

Kanh is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Junior is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Junior looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Kanh has picked Junior up and slammed him! Junior can't keep hold of the triangle and Kanh manages to pass to side control!

Kanh is trying to control the action in half guard but Junior is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Kanh wants to control from the top but Junior keeps moving.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Junior ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

Junior fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Kanh, pushing him back against the cage.

Kanh wants to control from the top but Junior keeps moving.

Junior had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Kanh defends it easily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Junior pushes a forearm under Kanh's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Kanh is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:56 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Mark Junior!
Mark Junior decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
