This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the featherweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of London, with a TWGC record of 1 wins and 5 losses; Gerald Humpdywonk! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Tokyo, with a TWGC record of 4 wins and 3 losses; John Johns! The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, Daniel Bishop and William Gold.
The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way. Johns has Humpdywonk up against the cage in a clinch.
Johns turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Johns manages to end up in side control. Score +4 for clean takedown past guard: Humpdywonk (0) vs (4) Johns Humpdywonk prevents Johns from improving position. Johns working away. Johns swings around for an armbar but Humpdywonk sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Johns's guard. Score +2 for sweep to guard / half guard: Humpdywonk (2) vs (4) Johns Humpdywonk tries to free his leg and advance position but Johns is retaining full guard. Humpdywonk wants to control from the top but Johns keeps moving. Johns seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. Johns wants to sweep but no luck. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Humpdywonk stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Johns swivels though and keeps the full guard. Humpdywonk trying to control but Johns is working from the bottom. Johns has his hands on Humpdywonk's head, controlling the position.

Johns looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Humpdywonk puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard. Humpdywonk is trying to control the action in half guard but Johns is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Johns wants to get back to full guard. Humpdywonk wants to pass the guard but Johns is defending well. Humpdywonk wants to control but Johns is keeping him busy. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Johns slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Johns is on top in guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Johns slips nicely into half guard. Humpdywonk is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Johns's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Johns's back! Score +4 for clean sweep to past guard: Humpdywonk (6) vs (6) Johns Johns manages to reverse the position and now he's in Humpdywonk's guard. Nice work there by Johns.

Johns is trying to control the action in half guard but Humpdywonk is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Humpdywonk is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Johns is looking to advance position but Humpdywonk won't allow it. Johns is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Johns wants to take a breather but Humpdywonk is having none of it. Johns is working for a submission of some sort.

Johns has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Humpdywonk has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
Humpdywonk looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment. Humpdywonk tries to escape but Johns has the hooks in and won't let him break free. Johns is working on the RNC. He looks like he's got it but Humpdywonk won't tap... Oh, he's out! The ref rips Johns off his unconscious opponent!
