Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Brock Mir (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rockin Rolla (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rockin Rolla is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Brock Mir!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Rockin Rolla!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Robert Twigg and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No joy there for Rolla, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Mir shoots in for a takedown but Rolla shows good takedown defense.
Mir throws a front kick aimed at Rolla's knee but Rolla avoids it well.

Rolla has managed to clinch.
Mir wants a takedown but no success here.
Mir jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Rolla walks away with a smile on his face. Mir gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Brock Mir. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Rolla throws a leg kick but Mir checks it.

and Mir counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Rolla is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Mir's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Mir throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Rolla works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Mir advances to half guard.

Rolla kicks off Mir and gets to his feet.

Mir shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Mir lands a couple of digs.
Mir is looking to work some ground and pound but Rolla has wrist control.

Mir has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Mir is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Rolla is looking for a triangle but Mir pushes his legs off easily.

Mir drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Mir jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Mir makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

Mir postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.

Mir is looking to work some ground and pound but Rolla has wrist control.

Rolla wriggles free and stands up.

Mir fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Mir checks a leg kick.

Mir closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Rolla gets back to half guard.
Rolla is pressing down on Mir's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Rolla lands a decent punch to the body there.

Mir makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

Mir stands up over Rolla, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Mir throws and elbow that misses. Rolla uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Mir's guard. Nice move by Rolla!

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Rolla lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Rolla.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Mir shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Rolla's guard.

Mir is pushing down on Rolla's leg trying to pass to half guard. Rolla is fighting to maintain full guard but Mir has managed to sneak the leg through.
Rolla wants to control but Mir is keeping busy and won't allow it.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Rolla has hold of Mir's hands but Mir slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Rolla is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Mir scores with a couple of nice shots.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Brock Mir dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

and Rolla counters with a one-two to the body.

Brock Mir dominated that second round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.



Mir feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Rolla escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Mir gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Mir tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Rolla paws at him with a jab and circles away.

and Mir counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Rolla!

The referee warns Rolla that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Rolla is really trying hard to get back to his feet.
Mir prevents Rolla from getting the reversal.
Mir has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Rolla's face.
Rolla tries to lock up and control but Mir gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Brock Mir is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Rolla drives through with a takedown into guard.

And that's the end of the fight!
Brock Mir showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Mir, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
