Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Vitja Kostlov!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 6 - 0, fighting out of London, Hayato Sakuraba!
The judges for this bout are James Glass, William Gold and Colin Fotheringham.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sakuraba lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Kostlov tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Sakuraba counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
It looks like Vitja Kostlov has been cut.
Kostlov gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Sakuraba counters with a nice body shot.
Sakuraba lands a big right hook! Kostlov looks hurt but is still standing! Sakuraba lands a left jab and another right hook! This time Kostlov falls down and Sakuraba dives in with a huge hammer fist! Kostlov's eyes roll back! The referee calls for the bell and Sakuraba runs up the cage to celebrate with his fans!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:29 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Hayato Sakuraba!
After winning the bout, Hayato Sakuraba thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
