Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Sterling Sonnen (ranked 4987 p4p, 2373 weight class) and Aleksander Einar (ranked 299 p4p, 156 weight class). Einar comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Black Stone Cherry - Again kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Aleksander Einar enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Sterling Sonnen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Aleksander Einar!
The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, Richard Clark and Daniel Bishop.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sonnen looking to score a takedown here. Einar is defending well but Sonnen drives through and ends up in Einar's guard.

Sonnen definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

Sonnen has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Einar really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Sonnen. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Sonnen has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Sonnen connects with a nice short shot to Einar's temple.

Sonnen uses his free foot to push down on Einar's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Einar.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Sonnen postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Einar looks a forlorn figure.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Sonnen cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Einar is still in real trouble! Can Sonnen finish him?

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Einar can do anything to dispel that myth.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Sonnen softens up his opponent with a couple of shots there and then CRACK! One massive shot lands there and Einar is out cold! Sonnen jumps to his feet and celebrates on the cage with the fans, who are, quite frankly, going absolutely mental!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:26 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Sterling Sonnen!
Sterling Sonnen was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
In defeat, Aleksander Einar stepped up to the mic, saying 'That ref is corrupted AF! Defund the police!'.
