Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Julio Balestrin (ranked 1265 p4p, 367 weight class) and Ottaa Koppia (ranked 168 p4p, 58 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Julio Balestrin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 7 - 0, fighting out of London, Ottaa Koppia!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, Chris Edwards and William Gold.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Balestrin ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Koppia moves away.
Koppia misses with a straight right.
Balestrin misses the shot to the body.
A nice side step and Koppia releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.
Koppia slips a jab and a cross from Balestrin.
Koppia throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Balestrin swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect.
Balestrin ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Koppia thows a left - swing and a miss!

Koppia lands a nice hook to Balestrin's body. Balestrin takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Balestrin misses the jab.
It seemed like Koppia was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Ottaa Koppia seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Balestrin throws a right and a left that Koppia avoids nicely.

Koppia has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Balestrin moves away from the strike by Koppia.

We've been told by Balestrin's head coaches at Soul Supremacy Rio that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Koppia misses with a hook. Balestrin ducked under it nicely.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Koppia lands hard precision jab right on the jaw that stiffens Balestrin up and sends him tumbling to the mat! The ref grabs Koppia from behind before he can pounce. Some folks in the crowd didn't like that stoppage, but I saw Balestrin's eyes roll way back in his head, he was done.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Ottaa Koppia!
After winning the bout, Ottaa Koppia thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
