Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jake Damien (ranked 1367 p4p, 1590 weight class) and Jack Frost (ranked 184 p4p, 216 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 12 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jake Damien! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jack Frost! The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, Sam Margolis and James Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Damien feints and as Frost raises his hands in defense, Damien changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Damien stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Frost swivels though and keeps the full guard. Damien wants to control from the top but Frost keeps moving. Damien got a little sloppy there for a moment and Frost has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Damien has managed to get both his arms back between Frost's legs - danger averted. Frost being controlled here, momentarily. Damien won't allow Frost to sweep him here. Damien pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Frost is keeping the position for now. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Damien trying to control the position from guard on top but Frost is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Frost has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Damien can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Damien stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Frost swivels though and keeps the full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Damien is looking to pass into half guard but Frost pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Frost is in guard. Damien manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Frost manages to get himself to full guard.
Frost tries to land a sweep but no joy. Damien pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Frost is keeping the position for now. Damien trying to control the position from guard on top but Frost is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Damien is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Frost is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Damien works a leg free and moves into half guard. Frost is trying to control but can't.
Damien prevents Frost from improving his position. Damien seems to be working for a kimura but Frost defends the submission attempt. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Damien is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Frost doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Damien. Damien wants to lay and pray for a moment but Frost keeps working. Damien wants to pass the guard but Frost is defending well.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Damien is keen to just control but Frost is a slippery customer. Frost is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Damien pulls his head out easily. Frost felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it. Frost moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Frost had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Damien defends it easily. Frost is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Damien wants to control from the top but Frost keeps moving. Damien is pushing down on Frost's leg trying to pass to half guard. Frost is fighting to maintain full guard but Damien has managed to sneak the leg through.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Damien is looking for a kimura but Frost is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Damien to get the leverage. Frost is looking for a sweep. Damien is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Damien looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Frost wants to control but Damien is keeping busy.
Frost is trying to avoid being dragged into an even worse position than he's already in but Damien is staying active. Frost wants to improve his position but Damien is controlling well.
Damien trying to control the action but Frost is working from the bottom. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Frost won't allow Damien to pass to mount. Damien is working for a kimura but Frost is defending it quite comfortably.

Frost gets caught napping as Damien dives in and scores a takedown. Frost manages to retain guard. Damien passes Frost's left leg - he's now in half guard. Frost looking for submissions off his back. Damien looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Frost wants to control but Damien is keeping busy and won't allow it. Damien is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Frost can do to turn this around? We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Frost is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Frost is looking to improve his position but Damien isn't that keen on the idea. Damien takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Frost tries to reverse the position but Damien maintains control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Frost keeps trying to improve his position. Damien is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Frost can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Damien looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead. Frost is in all sorts of trouble here.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Frost slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Frost can't keep his opponent in guard - Damien advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Damien not doing much here.

Damien shoots for a takedown but Frost saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Frost gets caught napping as Damien dives in and scores a takedown. Frost manages to retain guard. Damien drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Frost manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Damien has Frost in his guard. Frost works over Damien with some ground and pound from guard. Frost connects with a couple of short punches. Frost trying to stand up but can't free himself from Damien's guard. Frost scoring with punches to the head and body. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Damien wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Frost is now in half guard. Damien is pressing down on Frost's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Damien can't keep hold of the triangle and Frost manages to pass to side control!
