Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Yosko Kimura (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Timothy Flowers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Yosko Kimura! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Timothy Flowers! The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Daniel Franklin and Robert Twigg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Flowers has a takedown stuffed. Flowers rushes Kimura and pushes him back against the ropes in a clinch. Kimura drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Yosko Kimura. That's going to take a lot out of him. Flowers is trying to drag Kimura to the mat but Kimura just about manages to keep his footing. He used the ropes to his advantage there. Flowers changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Kimura fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Timothy Flowers seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. No luck for Flowers with that takedown attempt. Kimura moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination. Kimura throws a low kick but Flowers avoids it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kimura looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it. Flowers tries for a takedown but Kimura sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Flowers closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Kimura tries to roll over but Flowers keeps him under control. Flowers seems to be working for a kimura but Kimura defends the submission attempt. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. Flowers looks gassed! Kimura regains full guard. Nicely done. Flowers thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Kimura bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Flowers's guard. Flowers can't keep his opponent in guard - Kimura advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Flowers is defending against the submission attempts here by Kimura.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Kimura prevents Flowers from getting the reversal. Kimura can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Flowers is looking to escape. Flowers working to try and regain half guard.
Kimura jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Flowers manages to avoid the submission attempt. Kimura wants to lay and pray for a moment but Flowers keeps working. Flowers tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Kimura wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kimura wants to control for a moment but Flowers uses the opportunity to move back to half guard. Flowers is looking for a kimura but Kimura is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Flowers to get the leverage. Flowers is pressing down on Kimura's thigh, looking to free his foot. Kimura is holding on for now. The fighters are battling for position here. Kimura manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Kimura trying to keep a closed guard but Flowers is proving a slippery customer.

Kimura wants to control the pace but Flowers is squirming around nicely. Kimura is really struggling to control Flowers but he's trying to hold on to the position. Kimura is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Flowers is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. Kimura has control of Flowers's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Flowers regains control of the situation pretty easily.

A head kick from Flowers lands but Kimura takes it in his stride. Kimura throws a body kick but he wasn't in range. Nice shot lands for Kimura. Kimura fails to land with a series of punches.
Flowers's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and Flowers duly obliges. Flowers closes this distance looking for a takedown but Kimura circles away. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Flowers shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Flowers is breathing heavily. Kimura moves into full guard.

Flowers drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Kimura dives on top into guard. Flowers is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Flowers has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Kimura can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Flowers is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Kimura trying to control the position from guard on top but Flowers is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Flowers tries to land a sweep but no joy. Kimura works a leg free and moves into half guard. Kimura working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Flowers on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Kimura is pressing down on Flowers's thigh, looking to free his foot. Flowers is holding on for now. Flowers looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Flowers wants to improve his position but Kimura is controlling well.
Kimura is keen to just control but Flowers is a slippery customer. Flowers is looking for a sweep. Kimura is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Kimura scores with a jab to the body. Kimura lands with a straight right. Flowers didn't see that one coming. Flowers shoots in for a takedown but Kimura shows good takedown defense. Flowers misses with a takedown attempt - Kimura sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Yosko Kimura has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Timothy Flowers. Kimura lands with a nice combination. Flowers backs away looking to recover. Yosko Kimura is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Kimura feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Kimura wants to pass the guard but Flowers is keeping the position. Flowers is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a tringle but Kimura frees his head nicely. Oh but Flowers has switched to an armbar! Kimura is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
