This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the lightweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of Las Vegas, with a TWGC record of 12 wins and 7 losses; Yuri Boshtok! And in the blue corner, fighting out of New York, with a TWGC record of 16 wins and 9 losses; Caius Cosades! The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, Russell Pearce and Franklyn Lucas.
The fighters bow as they face eachother in the middle of the mat and we are under way. Cosades scores with a takedown into Boshtok's guard. Score +2 for takedown into guard / half guard: Boshtok (0) vs (2) Cosades Cosades engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Cosades trying to control the position from guard on top but Boshtok is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Boshtok is looking to sweep but instead, Cosades has passed into half guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Cosades is looking for a kimura but Boshtok is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Cosades to get the leverage. Cosades is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Boshtok doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Cosades.
That's one minute gone in the round. Cosades is looking to stall here but Boshtok recovers full guard. Cosades sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Boshtok's guard. Boshtok is looking to control Cosades's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Boshtok avoid being mounted?
That's two minutes gone in the round. Boshtok is not content to let Cosades control the position. Cosades works his way into side control. Score +3 for passing guard: Boshtok (0) vs (5) Cosades Boshtok trying to remain calm as Cosades controls from the top position. Cosades thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Cosades trying to control the position but Boshtok is working away.

Cosades seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Boshtok does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Boshtok is in a tricky position but he's been working on his transitions down at X-Mansion, so we'll see if he gets out of it. Boshtok wants to improve his position but Cosades is controlling well.
