This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the lightweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of Las Vegas, with a TWGC record of 5 wins and 3 losses; Brian Ortega! And in the blue corner, fighting out of New York, with a TWGC record of 21 wins and 16 losses; Morrison Lee! The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, John Roberts and Jonathan Paton.
The official calls the fighters to the middle and the contest is under way. Lee fails with the takedown. Ortega shoots in looking for a takedown but Lee manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Ortega's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Ortega gets caught napping as Lee dives in and scores a takedown. Ortega manages to retain guard. Score +2 for takedown into guard / half guard: Ortega (0) vs (2) Lee Lee tries to free his leg and advance position but Ortega is retaining full guard. Ortega has his foot on Lee's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Lee works his way back into a safe position though. Lee passes Ortega's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Ortega is concentrating on defense, preventing Lee from advancing position. Ortega is looking for a sweep. Lee is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Lee is pressing down on Ortega's thigh, looking to free his foot. Ortega is holding on for now. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Ortega wants to control but Lee is keeping busy.

That's one minute gone in the round. Lee is posturing up here but Ortega has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Lee tries to roll out but it's too tight and Lee has to tap! Slick submission there by Ortega!
