This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the welterweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of London, with a TWGC record of 19 wins and 10 losses; Esteban Mondragon! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Helsinki, with a TWGC record of 26 wins and 18 losses; Paul Hunt! The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Dillan Fox and William Peck.
The fighters bow as they face eachother in the middle of the mat and we are under way. Hunt changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Mondragon looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Score +4 for clean takedown past guard: Mondragon (0) vs (4) Hunt Hunt wants to lay and pray for a moment but Mondragon keeps working. Hunt moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now. Mondragon tries to improve position but can't. Mondragon is not content to let Hunt control the position. That's ten minutes gone in the round. Mondragon looking for submissions from an awkward position here. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Hunt is looking for submissions but instead, Mondragon has regained full guard.
