CWC 276 PBP Commentary |
This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the featherweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of New York, with a TWGC record of 12 wins and 5 losses; John Lee! And in the blue corner, fighting out of New York, with a TWGC record of 9 wins and 8 losses; Rap Tori!
The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, Anthony Taglia and Russell Pearce.
The fighters bow as they face eachother in the middle of the mat and we are under way.
Lee shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Tori manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Score +2 for takedown into guard / half guard: Lee (2) vs (0) Tori

Tori tries to land a sweep but no joy.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

I've been told that Tori has been drilling his wrestling of late, which has already helped him take this fight to the mat. Let's see how much of an impact it has on the outcome of the ground game.

Tori sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

Lee's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
