And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 18 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Javier Pinales!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Frank Antenori and Percy O'Donnell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Lundgren fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Pinales sprawls well initially but Lundgren persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Lundgren is trying to work for a kimura but Pinales is defending well.
Ground and pound from Lundgren.
Lundgren is looking to advance position but Pinales won't allow it.

Pinales looking for submissions off his back.
Lundgren is looking to take a break and control but Pinales is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Lundgren is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Pinales looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Pinales is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Lundgren's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Lundgren's back!
You can see the frustration on Lundgren's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
Our spies down at at Kalashnikov ELITE MMA Gym inform us that Pinales has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off?

Pinales is looking for the choke from the back position but Lundgren is controlling his hands well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Lundgren is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.

Pinales is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.

Pinales is persistently looking for the submission but Lundgren is defending it well.

Pinales looking to break Lundgren's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Lundgren remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Pinales will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!

Lundgren is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Pinales gets his way!
