PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Bobby Bobblehead (ranked 21 p4p, 5 weight class) and Dylan Peterson (ranked 5 p4p, 1 weight class). Bobblehead comes into the arena with For Heavy Metal we will die! blaring out of the sound system. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 23 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Dylan Peterson!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Frank Antenori and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Peterson misses the jab.
Peterson shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Bobblehead as he avoids it easily.

and Bobblehead connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Peterson lands a lovely overhand right.
Peterson shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Bobblehead pinned against the cage. Bobblehead gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Peterson cracks Bobblehead with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.

We've been informed that Peterson has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.

Peterson might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Peterson connects with a nice short shot to Bobblehead's temple.
Bobblehead regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Peterson.
Bobblehead lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

A close round but Dylan Peterson will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Peterson looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Bobblehead with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Peterson has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Peterson stands over his opponent and dives in with a flying punch! Bobblehead throws up his legs and catches Peterson in a triangle! Oh this looks tight! Peterson tries to escape but he's forced to tap! Wow, fantastic work there by Bobblehead! That came out of nowhere!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:27 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Choke). Bobby Bobblehead!
An out of breath Bobby Bobblehead thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
