Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Michael Cudlitz (ranked 3440 p4p, 2251 weight class) and Casius Laizel (ranked 455 p4p, 316 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Michael Cudlitz! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Casius Laizel! The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Stewart Dunkirk and Cecil Peabody.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cudlitz shoots in and gets a takedown into Laizel's guard. Cudlitz works a leg free and moves into half guard. Laizel is looking to control Cudlitz's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Laizel avoid being mounted? Cudlitz controlling the pace. Laizel looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Cudlitz looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Laizel with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Laizel on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Cudlitz is looking to take a break and control but Laizel is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Laizel gets back to full guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Cudlitz slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Cudlitz seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Laizel for as long as he can get away with.
That's one minute gone in the round. Cudlitz content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Laizel tries to land a sweep but no joy. Laizel throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Cudlitz with a nice head shot there. Cudlitz won't allow Laizel to sweep him here. Cudlitz makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Cudlitz working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Laizel's head.
Laizel is rocked! Cudlitz lands a couple of digs. Laizel is still in real trouble! Can Cudlitz finish him? Cudlitz postures up from his opponent's guard, before exploding into some vicious ground and pound! Laizel covers up, he's hurt! Cudlitz keeps throwing the strikes, glancing at the referee... Will he stop it?? One more big shot from Cudlitz and the ref steps in to end the fight! Cudlitz can't hide his delight as he celebrates with his corner.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Michael Cudlitz! Our winner, Michael Cudlitz, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
