Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Roland Kiter (ranked 4343 p4p, 2968 weight class) and Michael Simmons (ranked 0 p4p, 352 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Roland Kiter!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Michael Simmons!
The judges for this bout are Vladimir Khabensky, Dmitry Maklakov and Ivan Kurochkin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kiter clinches up against the cage.
Kiter makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.

It looks like Michael Simmons has been cut.
Simmons has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Kiter is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Kiter lands a right hand.
Simmons is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Kiter is trying to force a seperation but Simmons has the dominant position.
Simmons tries to pull guard but Kiter forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
Roland Kiter has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Michael Simmons.
Kiter tries to circle away but Simmons has him pinned against the cage.
Kiter is looking to break free of the clinch but Simmons has double underhooks.

Simmons breaks the clinch.
Kiter bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kiter throws a series of punches but Simmons avoids them all with ease.
Simmons on the wrong end of a nice jab.
Simmons lands with a kick to the temple. Kiter shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"

Simmons looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Simmons is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Simmons looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Kiter with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Simmons lands with a punch from half guard.
Simmons stops Kiter from getting back to his feet.

Simmons seems to be working for a kimura but Kiter defends the submission attempt.
Simmons working the head and body with strikes.
Simmons winds up and cracks Kiter with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Simmons prevents Kiter from standing back up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Simmons drops an elbow to the side of Kiter's head.
Simmons wants to lay and pray for a moment but Kiter keeps working.

Kiter kicks off Simmons and gets to his feet.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Simmons.
Kiter missing with a left hand there. Simmons was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Simmons shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Kiter as he avoids it easily.
Kiter works the jab nicely.

That has opened up Michael Simmons's cut even more.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
A left lands for Kiter.

Kiter gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Kiter tries to break the clinch but Simmons is controlling the position.
Kiter is pressed up against the cage. Simmons has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Kiter down to the mat. Kiter avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Kiter looks to land a combination but Simmons avoids it well.
Simmons shoots in but Kiter avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Simmons looks winded!

Kiter has taken the fight to the clinch.
Simmons changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Kiter fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Kiter misses with a two punch combination.
Simmons fails with the takedown.
Simmons misses with a wild combination.
Kiter looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Kiter throws a right hand that Simmons ducks under and follows up with a left that Simmons also avoids with ease.
Simmons doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter.
Kiter avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Simmons looking to score a takedown here. Kiter is defending well but Simmons drives through and ends up in Kiter's guard.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Simmons wants to control from the top but Kiter keeps moving.
Simmons with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Simmons's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Simmons stops Kiter from standing up.

Simmons gets to his feet - Kiter follows without any prompting.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Kiter takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Simmons throws a sloppy head kick and Kiter moves out of range easily.
A head kick from Simmons lands but Kiter takes it in his stride.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Roland Kiter will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Michael Simmons's cut.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action.

Simmons throws a head kick that half lands.
Simmons looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Kiter is fending him off so far but Simmons persists. Nope, Kiter circles away and we're back to standing.
Simmons throws a lazy head kick
and Kiter connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

Oooooh!!! Kiter has knocked Simmons down with a huge combo! Kiter steps away and waves a wobbly Simmons back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!

Kiter has closed the distance and engaged Simmons in a clinch.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Kiter is trying to force a seperation but Simmons has the dominant position.
Kiter lands a body punch in the clinch.
A short left from Kiter.
A nice left hand lands by Kiter.
Kiter lands a shoulder strike.
Simmons is breathing heavily.
Kiter wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Still in the clinch, Kiter scores with a nice short uppercut.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Kiter escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Simmons fails in his attempt to clinch.
Roland Kiter is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Kiter connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.

Simmons is rocked!

The cut above Michael Simmons's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Kiter lands a big uppercut and this one is all over! His foe lies motionless on the canvas - a massive one punch knockout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:20 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Roland Kiter!
