PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Vvv Vvv (ranked 24306 p4p, 5902 weight class) and Sss Sss (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Vvv Vvv!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sss Sss!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Tiny Johnson and Daniel Franklin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.
No luck for Vvv with that takedown attempt.
Vvv shoots for a double leg takedown but Sss sprawls well. He's pushed Vvv's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Sss feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Sss throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Sss is stalling in the full guard.

Vvv is trying to control the position from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Sss controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Sss advances position into side control!

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Vvv seems a little lost for a moment, as Sss dominates the positioning.
Vvv struggling a bit here.
Vvv is letting Sss control him for a moment.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Vvv looks for a takedown but Sss sprawls well.
A countering left hand to the body from Sss misses.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Vvv Vvv. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Sss misses with a kick to the body
and Vvv counters with a body kick.

Sss changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Vvv looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Sss misses with an attempted head punch from side control.
Sss moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.
Let's hope that Sss has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Vvv wants to control but Sss postures up.
Vvv is pushing Sss's head away, looking to escape. Sss manages to hold on to the position though.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Vvv is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Sss feints and as Vvv raises his hands in defense, Sss changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Vvv wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Sss manages to pass to side control.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Sss Sss dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action.

Sss shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Vvv jinks towards his opponent looking like he wants to counter with a mid kick but doesn't commit.
Vvv shoots in but no luck this time.
Nice sprawl there from Vvv as Sss shoots in.
Vvv is looking to counter with head kicks.
Vvv shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Sss sprawls well. Sss wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Vvv gets slowly back to his feet.
Sss replies with a solid counter kick to the body but Vvv blocks it well.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Sss shoots in but no luck this time.
Vvv Vvv has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sss Sss.

Vvv drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Sss pulls Vvv in close to prevent any damage.

Vvv gets to his feet - Sss follows without any prompting.

Nice takedown defense from Sss. No joy for Vvv on that attempt.
Sss is looking for the big counter here.
Vvv fails with a takedown attempt.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Vvv.
Sss thinks about the counter body kick.

Vvv closes the distance and clinches up with Sss, looking for a takedown. Vvv pushes Sss against the cage but Sss circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
And Sss responds with a good body kick, but Vvv manages to step out the way in time.
Sss has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Sss stuffs the takedown.
Sss replies with a solid counter kick to the body but Vvv blocks it well.
Vvv shoots for a takedown but Sss saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Sss follows through with a counter body kick but it doesn't land.
Vvv keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Vvv darts in looking for a takedown but Sss gets double underhooks and turns Vvv into the cage.
Sss doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter.
Sss tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Vvv smiles and moves away.
Sss blocks the body kick.
Vvv tries for a takedown but Sss circles away easily
and Sss counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Vvv Vvv will probably get the nod.
That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!

Vvv closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Vvv lands in his opponent's guard.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Vvv's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

Vvv gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

Sss is trying to counter with his kicks.
Vvv shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Sss but Sss pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Sss looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Vvv is fending him off so far but Sss persists. Nope, Vvv circles away and we're back to standing.

Sss closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Sss lands in his opponent's guard.
Vvv wants to stand and escape but Sss is having none of it.
Vvv not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Sss is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Sss's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

Sss is continuing to stall.
Vvv is wriggling around but Sss manages to pass to half guard.
Sss not landing any meaningful shots this time.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Sss missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.
Vvv misses with a body kick.
Sss throws a mid kick that lands with a slap.
Sss tries to score a power double leg takedown but Vvv sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Sss somewhat.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Sss Sss.
I think Sss has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
