PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Mason McNamara (ranked 23507 p4p, 5865 weight class) and Sutarjo Sukarman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Mason McNamara!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Sutarjo Sukarman!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Ian Loll and Gregory Folan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McNamara throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
McNamara throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Sukarman's waist but Sukarman gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing McNamara off to one side.
McNamara tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Sukarman defends well and McNamara ends up having to push Sukarman into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
McNamara has been working on his balance at Puncher's Chance Collective, so perhaps that has help him stuff some of the takedown attempts by Sukarman.
Sukarman is looking for a takedown.

Sukarman must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
McNamara is looking to stand up but Sukarman isn't so interested in that idea.
McNamara has Sukarman pulled in close to control his posture.
Sukarman really doesn't want to stay on the ground with McNamara. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Sukarman drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Sukarman jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

McNamara shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Sukarman but Sukarman pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Sukarman does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

McNamara shoots in looking for a takedown. Sukarman tries to sprawl out of it but McNamara keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Sukarman manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

That was a close second round but I would say that Mason McNamara will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

McNamara shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than McNamara was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
