Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Conor Butcher (ranked 578 p4p, 256 weight class) and Joad Cressbeckler (ranked 90 p4p, 43 weight class). Butcher's entrance music is Eaten by Bloodbath. A fine choice. The crowd seem to be enjoying Cressbeckler's choice of entrance music: American Remains. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 4 - 2, fighting out of New York, Conor Butcher!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Joad Cressbeckler!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, Columbo Gatti and Lou da Vinci.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Butcher takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Cressbeckler misses with a kick to the body
and Butcher counters with a shoot takedown. Cressbeckler fights it but they end up in guard.
Butcher throws an elbow that misses. Cressbeckler uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Butcher's guard. Nice move by Cressbeckler!
Cressbeckler controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Cressbeckler stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Butcher swivels though and keeps the full guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Cressbeckler is looking to advance position but Butcher has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!
Butcher throws some wild stikes that Cressbeckler manages to avoid easily.

Cressbeckler is desperately trying to improve his position but Butcher has a good base and remains in mount.
Cressbeckler felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

Cressbeckler lets loose with a powerful body kick. Butcher will feel that in the morning.

Cressbeckler throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.
Butcher is looking to clinch but Cressbeckler is avoiding it.

Cressbeckler fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Butcher has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Butcher ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Cressbeckler moves away.

Joad Cressbeckler comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Cressbeckler has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
