PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Kristof Pardi (ranked 1384 p4p, 1230 weight class) and Koos Van Asch (ranked 148 p4p, 135 weight class). Pardi's entrance music is Party Boy Theme. A fine choice. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Van Asch circles away from the clinch attempt.

Pardi has gone for a leg lock! Van Asch slips out almost immediately though and dives into Pardi's guard.

Pardi working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Van Asch doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Van Asch manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Pardi isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Van Asch stacks Pardi on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Van Asch!

Koos Van Asch showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Pardi has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
