PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Gunar McMunges (ranked 5995 p4p, 4427 weight class) and Kenneth Hell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McMunges thuds his right hand into Hell's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Gunar McMunges seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hell wants to slow McMunges down by chopping away at his legs.
Hell throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Hell throws a nice looking combination but McMunges bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
McMunges keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Hell takes the fight into the clinch.
McMunges wants to break the clinch but can't.
Hell scores with a shot to the side of McMunges's head.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Hell has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics McMunges uses from the top position.

Hell's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
McMunges ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Hell moves away.
Hell shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. McMunges defends it nicely.

McMunges gets tackled into the cage by Hell. Hell maintains the clinch.

McMunges misses with a left hand

and Hell counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
McMunges has had enough of the clinch but Hell keeps him there for the moment.

Hell dives in and grabs McMunges's left leg, looking for a takedown. McMunges pushes down on Hell's head and hops out.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Hell manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.
Hell is trying to drag McMunges to the mat but McMunges just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
McMunges is looking to break free of the clinch but Hell has double underhooks.
Hell drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

McMunges looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Hell pushes off an throws an elbow but McMunges leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.

Hell escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
McMunges is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Hell.
McMunges connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Hell pulls out of a head kick attempt.

McMunges is trying to pull guard but Hell turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
A frustrated look appears on McMunges's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Hell digs a right hand underneath McMunges's ribcage. McMunges let out a lung full of air as it connected.

Hell tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Hell breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
McMunges swinging wildly here.
Hell gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and McMunges counters with a straight right hand.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

McMunges misses with a head kick.
McMunges throws a series of punches but Hell moves out of range.

Hell closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Kenneth Hell showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

McMunges swinging wildly here.
Hell fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but McMunges avoids it really well and circles away.
McMunges scores with a jab to the jaw.
McMunges misses with a few strikes there.
Hell tries to counter with a clinch but McMunges shakes him off and moves away.
Gunar McMunges is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Hell has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from McMunges.

McMunges pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
McMunges throws a poor cross that misses
and Hell counters with a three punch combo that has McMunges backing up. McMunges nods at Hell to acknowledge the strikes.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
McMunges misses the jab.
McMunges is looking to land body kicks.

Kenneth Hell seems to be working more effectively in the clinch in the fight so far.
McMunges wants to break free but Hell has control.

Hell's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Hell shoots in and drives through. McMunges sprawls well.
McMunges misses the shot to the body.
Hell shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and McMunges counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

Hell takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

and Hell counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Hell.
Hell has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by McMunges after a bit of a struggle.

McMunges scores with a nice head shot.
McMunges tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Hell was well out of range. Poor timing from McMunges.
McMunges just misses with a punch to the body.

Hell moves into range and clinches up with McMunges.
Hell looking for a takedown.
Hell misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Gunar McMunges has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
McMunges is trying to break free.
McMunges tries to break free but Hell pushes him back against the cage.
Hell tries to pull guard but McMunges holds him up against the cage and eventually Hell drops back down to his feet.

Hell scores with a shoulder strike.
Hell has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. McMunges is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Hell ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Hell no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

McMunges got a little sloppy there for a moment and Hell has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, McMunges has managed to get both his arms back between Hell's legs - danger averted.
Hell is pulling down on McMunges's head to control his posture.

Hell working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. McMunges doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. McMunges manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Kenneth Hell comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Hell winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
