The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Place tries to clinch up but Spackman circles away and keeps his distance.

Spackman decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Spackman seems to be looking for submissions.
Spackman stops Place from getting back to his feet.

Place is defending against the submission attempts here by Spackman.
Spackman frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Spackman jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Place is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Place and Spackman has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Spackman goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Place rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Spackman's guard! Nice work there by Place!

Place stands up and beckons Spackman to join him on the feet.
Spackman has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Spackman there as he acknowledges the shot.

Place uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Spackman has time to react.
Place fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Spackman is out of range.

Spackman takes one to the side of the head.
Place sees an opening and throws a straight punch right through Spackman's defenses. It connects perfectly with Spackman's jaw and knocks him out cold! Wow - that's a contender for knockout of the year - absolutely brutal!
