Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Bengt Strom!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Luss Mota!
The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Winston Howard and Chris Dean.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mota tries for a takedown but Strom sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Strom was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.
Strom shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Mota napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Strom is staying tight to Mota's torso, preventing him from escaping.
Strom working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

You can see the frustration on Mota's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Mota manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
Strom is refusing to be controlled, as Mota sits in half guard.
Mota is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Strom manages to escape and get back to his feet!
Strom closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Mota's guard.
Mota is looking to stand back up but Strom counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Mota.
Strom is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Mota trying to keep hold of his opponent's head but Strom manages to pass to mount!

Mota looks out of his depth in this position - he's holding on tight.

Mota tries to improve his position but Strom has taken his back! Strom has a choke - it's sunk in pretty tight... Will Mota tap? No... maybe... yes! He's tapped! Strom pushes Mota away and gets up to celebrate with his corner!
