Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Gilmat Kirk (ranked 327 p4p, 534 weight class) and Anton Strålman (ranked 41 p4p, 62 weight class). Kirk kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Lords of Iron. Strålman has chosen Three Kings as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Gilmat Kirk!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 32 - 24 - 2, fighting out of Montreal, Anton Strålman!
The judges for this bout are Percy O'Donnell, Timothy Bukovac and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Kirk is defended easily by Strålman.
A little jabbing left from Strålman on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Kirk has his takedown stuffed
and Strålman counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Strålman tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Kirk paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Strålman tries to clinch but Kirk is having none of it.
Kirk walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Strålman fails to land with a series of punches.
Strålman throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Kirk counters with an inside leg kick.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Strålman has Kirk up against the cage in a clinch.
Kirk jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Strålman walks away with a smile on his face. Kirk gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Gilmat Kirk. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Strålman misses with the combination.
Kirk looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.

Strålman misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Strålman throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Strålman keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Anton Strålman seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Strålman clinches up with Kirk and pushes him back against the cage.
Kirk lands with a light punch inside.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Kirk jumps into guard, dragging Strålman to the mat.
Kirk has his foot on Strålman's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Strålman works his way back into a safe position though.
Strålman got a little sloppy there for a moment and Kirk has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Strålman has managed to get both his arms back between Kirk's legs - danger averted.

Kirk looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Strålman decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Kirk, up you get!
Strålman fails in his attempt to clinch.
Kirk looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Strålman is fending him off so far but Kirk persists. Nope, Strålman circles away and we're back to standing.
Strålman swings for the body but Kirk moves out of range.
Kirk appears to be looking for a big counter.
Strålman closes the distance and lands a one-two.
Strålman fails with an attempt to clinch.
A combination from Strålman does no damage.
The fight moves into the clinch position.
Nice body punch from Strålman - that landed with a thud.

Kirk is stalling here.
Kirk is trying to pull guard but Strålman has him pressed against the cage.
Strålman breaks from the clinch.
Kirk fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Strålman, pushing him back against the cage.
Kirk tries to score a body lock takedown but Strålman shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Kirk blocks a body shot from Strålman.
Kirk manages to pull guard.
Kirk had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Strålman defends it easily.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Strålman decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Anton Strålman dominated that round.
That's time! Kirk's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Strålman lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Strålman jabs Kirk right on the nose. Kirk blinks but takes it well.
A jab from Strålman does it's job there.
Strålman throws a series of punches but Kirk moves out of range.
Kirk tries to counter with a takedown but Strålman is quick to defend against it.
Strålman has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.
Kirk clinches up against the cage.
Strålman has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Strålman blocks an uppercut.
Strålman breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Strålman tries to clinch but Kirk is having none of it.

Kirk manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
Kirk gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Strålman regains guard.
Strålman manages to escape and get back to his feet.

Kirk is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Strålman rolls with it to try and escape but Kirk cranks on the arm and Strålman is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
