The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Knox misses with a looping left.
We've been told by Voronov's head coaches at RED BELT ACADEMY that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Voronov connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Voronov tries to move into range but Knox moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Knox connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Voronov momentarily.
Knox misses with a straight left.
Voronov keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

Voronov throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Knox stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Voronov takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.

With the two fighters working up against the cage, Voronov just misses with a elbow thrown towards Knox's brow.

The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.

That was a close round but I would say that Yuri Voronov will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Knox tries to keep at a distance but Voronov has taken the fight into the clinch.
Voronov has not gone for a single takedown so far in this fight, which seems like a very strange tactic when you consider that he has the superior wrestling and BJJ.

Knox is struggling to control the position.
Knox lands an uppercut in the clinch that drops Voronov to his knees! Knox keeps firing more shots against his stricken opponent and the referee jumps in to save him!
