Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Kyle Garcia (ranked 1495 p4p, 2633 weight class) and Jacob Taylor (ranked 222 p4p, 364 weight class). Jacob Taylor has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Kyle Garcia! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Jacob Taylor! The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, Jonathan Paton and David Schapiro.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Taylor shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Garcia throws a big counter combination but Taylor scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage. Taylor fails in his attempt to clinch. Kyle Garcia seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Garcia waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Taylor. Taylor doesn't succeed with the takedown enabling Garcia to counter with a crisp jab. Garcia misses with a straight left. Garcia has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance. Taylor closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Taylor thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Taylor remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
That's one minute gone in the round. Taylor working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Garcia is looking for a sweep. Garcia avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Taylor. Taylor goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Garcia rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Taylor's guard! Nice work there by Garcia! Garcia got a little sloppy there for a moment and Taylor has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Garcia has managed to get both his arms back between Taylor's legs - danger averted. Garcia avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Taylor looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Garcia is defending well. Taylor quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Garcia has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Taylor celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:29 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Jacob Taylor! After winning the bout, Jacob Taylor thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
