PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Lewis Burwell Puller (ranked 845 p4p, 1124 weight class) and Mikey Day (ranked 54 p4p, 70 weight class). Puller comes to the cage accompanied by Hello. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Mikey Day was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 12 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Lewis Burwell Puller!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 21 - 17 - 1, fighting out of New York, Mikey Day!
The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Yuuki Gou and Kenichi Hosakawa.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Puller checks a leg kick.

We've been hearing reports that Puller has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Puller is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Puller is trying to maintain the position but Day is very close to passing his half guard.
Puller is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Day is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Puller moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Nice uppercut lands for Day. That snapped Puller's head back.
Day clobbers Puller with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Day cracks Puller with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

Day has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Day stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Puller swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Puller wants to sweep but no luck.
Day postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.

And that's the end of the fight!
Mikey Day comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Day has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Mikey Day really struggled to get his t-shirt on before his hand was raised. Making sure that PWNAGEâ„¢ logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty.
Lewis Burwell Puller was interviewed post fight and said 'It was not my night. Congratulations to my opponent. You were the better man tonight. You just gave me the ultimate motivation.'.
