Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between John Lawrence (ranked 2070 p4p, 1644 weight class) and Bagel Boss (ranked 299 p4p, 249 weight class). Lawrence comes to the cage accompanied by No Surrender. The crowd seem to be enjoying Boss's choice of entrance music: 6 Foot 7 Foot. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Taro Takaoka and Shirou Masuda.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Good exchange - Lawrence coming out on top.
It looks like Bagel Boss has been cut.
Some wild striking there from Lawrence.
Bagel Boss seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Lawrence throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Boss was covering up waiting for the punch and Lawrence finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Boss preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Lawrence accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Lawrence won't allow Boss to get back to his feet.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Lawrence throws a big elbow that misses.

Boss is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.
We've been hearing reports that Lawrence has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.

Lawrence decides to pull guard.
Lawrence throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Lawrence has his foot on Boss's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Boss works his way back into a safe position though.

Boss tries to stand but Lawrence is controlling from the bottom.
Boss stands and steps away. Lawrence gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Lawrence ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Boss moves away.

Lawrence swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Lawrence scores with a takedown into Boss's guard.
Lawrence wants to control from the top but Boss keeps moving.

Lawrence trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Lawrence throws a strike but Boss rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Boss gets to his feet - Lawrence follows without any prompting.
Lawrence misses with an uppercut. Boss saw that one coming.
Boss looks like he wanted to counter with a high kick but didn't throw it.
Lawrence lands with a nice body punch.
Lawrence dodges the punch combination from Boss.
Boss uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Lawrence.
Boss stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Boss throws a sloppy head kick
and Lawrence counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

No joy there for Boss, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Boss bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Lawrence's head.
Lawrence checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
Lawrence throws a body punch but Boss moves out of range.
Boss misses with a low kick.
Lawrence lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Lawrence misses with a few strikes there.
Boss lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
Lawrence throws a chopping leg kick but Boss manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
Lawrence looks to throw the jab but Boss is out of range.
Boss's coach down at 3Band MMA was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Boss's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Lawrence pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Boss fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Lawrence manages to avoid it.
Boss walks into a stiff left hand from Lawrence.
Boss misses with a wild body shot.
Boss keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Lawrence.
A low kick from Boss is predictable there
and Lawrence counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Lawrence.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Lawrence looking to sit in guard and control but Boss gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Boss would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Lawrence is looking for a triangle but Boss pushes his legs off easily.
Lawrence has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Boss is posturing up here but Lawrence has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Boss tries to roll out but it's too tight and Boss has to tap! Slick submission there by Lawrence!
